THE SHOW
Lipstick, Booze & Backstage Passes” is a podcast and online music fandom community created by songwriter and producer Liz Allman and producer and Sound Engineer Alejandro Speranza. While recovering from a near-fatal accident in 2023, Liz would play “20 Questions” on the phone from her hospital bed with her friends in the music industry. The seeds for a show were planted. She enlisted the help of her friend, Alejandro, and they began to build a show that crossed all genres, and introduced fans to not only musical artists, but people like promoters, roadies, session musicians, stylists, spouses and children, guitar techs, songwriters, label heads, agents, groupies, actors who have played musicians onscreen, assistants, DJs, music journalists, festival organizers and tour managers - the folks who keep the music business, tours and studios humming. They wanted a place where fans could listen and watch with all access to the tour buses, studios, backstage and venues; a true insider’s look at how the music we love gets made, promoted and performed.

The conversation surrounding music style is such an important one and male and female viewers alike will love to come along as we are students of the fashion and beauty influences that are as iconic as the music itself. From Amy Winehouse’s signature beehive and Jim Morrison’s leather pants to Tina Turner’s spiky coiffure and Bowie’s chameleonic costumes, shoes and makeup, journey with the LBBP team and discover favorite places to shop new or vintage, find items we wear on the show, as well as beauty regimens and tips from Liz and our guests. Discover how groupie fashion influenced looks we wear today and how Grunge is still relevant. We cover it all from disco, funk, hip-hop, and peak Lilith Fair and Coachella looks. Music isn’t just for our ears and souls; it’s also a myriad of style vibes, history and resources.
